Beginners need not worry. The rafting adventure usually begins with smoother sweeps along the river, and smaller rapids for warm-up, progressing to more challenging ones. There’s also a serene section where you can float along and enjoy birdwatching or a refreshing swim. Depending on the season, you would be able to visit caves. In any case, a simple boat ride in front of the river pool near camp is available for all ages. The boat ride allows you to sail appreciably close to the rapids. The best time for rafting on the Sagana River is during and after the rainy season – April to May and October to November – when the river swells.
