Tamarind Dhow I Restaurant: A Real Treat!

Oozing the old-world Zanzibar flair, a Swahili kitchen and centuries old sailing norms, Tamarind Dhow Cruise has revolutionized how people get around and enjoy a meal. It is boarded at the Tamarind Restaurant along Nyali Beach and offers two daily cruises: The lunchtime cruise departs from the Tamarind Jetty at 1:00 pm, cruises gently up the Tudor creek to a secluded spot where the dhow moors; the evening (sunset) cruise departs at 6:00 pm. All meals are prepared on-board and the evening cruise has plenty of music and dancing to usher in, with melodies, fine tropical evenings. It is a relaxing and exiting way to experience the sights and sounds of Mombasa as you enjoy freshly prepared seafood cuisine.

The view of the ocean and the setting sun are so beautiful and calming. It relaxes you straight away. Both dhow cruises have space for up to 70 patrons. Pick-ups and drop-off can be arranged for guests living in resorts at the Island, Bamburi, Nyali and Shanzu Beaches as well as at the South Coast. Tamarind Dhow Cruise is run by Tamarind Group who also operate the much-liked Tamarind Restaurant. Abutting with Tamarind Restaurant is Tamarind Village, a luxurious collection of fully serviced apartments looking out to the Tudor Creek and parts of Old Town Mombasa. A word of advice: Tamarind Dhow Cruises only run when a minimum threshold quorum gather. The cost of the dinner cruise is Kes 5500 pp incl. vat excl. of transport. Children between 2-11 years are entitled to 50% discount. Tamarind Restaurant is located just 1 km south of Kengeleni along Links Road.
