Ndakaini Dam Annual Marathon Festival

First run in 2004 towards the conservation of Ndakaini Dam – and still centered on this goal, the Ndakaini Half Marathon courses, loops and bends around the Ndakaini Dam. It is traditionally run on the last weekend of September. Since its inception, more than 350,000 trees have been planted in the whole of Ndakaini area extending up to Aberdare Forest. Ndakaini Half Marathon brings together people of all ages and walks of life to take time off and share in a family fun day with competitive and fun marathons, sightseeing, conservation and much more.
