Archaeological Sites in Homa Bay Kanam Prehistoric Site: A Pleistocene Site Also first excavated in 1932 by Dr. Louis Leakey, Kanam is widely-known for the discovery of a fossil human mandible along with several Pleistocene fauna and pebble tools of the early Pleistocene epoch.
