Natural Landmarks in Isiolo Kaita and Degushi Hills: At Kisingu Gap The construction of a multi-billion-shilling resort city in Isiolo is inching closer to reality following the latest move by the Government to settle on Kula Mawe as the site for the project. The Lapsset Corridor Development Authority (LCDA), which is coordinating the project, has directed the Isiolo Government to set aside 10,000 acres of land in the area to allow the commencement of the Master Plan later this month – a critical process in the development of the city, near Kaita and Degushi. The twin hills of Kaita and Degushi, part of hillocks dominating the landscape west side of Isiolo Airport, offer prospects for an afternoon adventure for the outdoor lovers. The hills are striking features of the landscape, providing elevation changes in the largely flat or gently rolling terrain. Kaita and Degushi Hills also overlook Kisingu Gap and the proposed site for the ambitious 6,500-acres multi-billion Isiolo Resort Village. From Isiolo town, these hills are located only 2 km eastward.
