On arrival, you are greeted by the lovely hosts who run the farm. You get a quick tour of the property, before getting to one of three cozy farmhouse cottages. All the cottages are rustic, comfortable and tastefully furnished with wooden fixtures and large windows that open up to calming views of the farm, fields, and nearby hills. Being a working farm, they are delighted in sharing the fruits with guests, so be on the lookout for a fresh fruit basket when you arrive. Its quite a warm token.

Living is provided for at Ostrich House, Tree House, or Lichi House. Tucked away under the litchi trees, Lichi House, great for couples and small families, is a snug studio farmhouse offering lovely views of the resident ostriches. At hand, Ostrich House, great for groups and bigger families, has generous windows that frame the pleasant farmscape and, as its names suggest, glimpses of the resident ostriches. Tree House, great for couple or solo travellers, is raised on stilts with a rustic staircase to the top. It is a secluded world of warmth up there, not to mention picture-postcard views that include in good weather the peaks of Mount Kenya.

Well settled and suitable nourished, its time to bring out you inner child and farmer. This is a working farm! The kids will totally be in their elements as you roam the farm, feed the ostrich, take frolicky walks, chat and laugh. Well adjusted, its on to fruit picking. Armed with a basket, you head to the orchard, thriving with a variety of fruits – lychees, oranges, mangoes, dragon fruits, and much more. Fill up your basket with assorted fruits of your choice and take home a box to enjoy.

The highlights of the stay is, of course, getting to experience life on a farm. The hosts will give you an insightful tour of the vegetable gardens and explain their organic farming practices, which is insightful for anyone interested in eco-friendly agriculture. The hands-on farming activities are both fun and educational, for kids and parents. You get the chance to get your hands dirty by helping with the daily chores, which makes you appreciate the hard work that goes into running a farm.
